Dennis Onsarigo

Chairman

Dennis Onsarigo has spent two decades in the rooms where Kenya's biggest stories are made, and often, before that, in the rooms where they are broken.

As a renowned investigative journalist, he led the Investigations Desk at Standard Media Group, where he pioneered Kenya's first-ever television crime series, "Case Files," and spearheaded the investigative series "The Lead," setting new benchmarks for long-form investigative journalism in the country.

Before that, he cut his teeth at Nation Media Group, rising from cameraman to television journalist and playing a key role in the re-launch of NTV Kenya.

From the newsroom, Dennis moved into strategy.

As Director of Strategy at Chatter Media, he led strategic planning and client advisory for a full-service communications agency, guiding data-driven brand and communications strategy for corporate clients across East Africa and translating strategic thinking into high-performing campaigns.

That grounding in strategy carried him into the highest-stakes communications role in Kenyan politics. As Press Secretary for the Azimio La Umoja presidential campaign in 2022, Dennis served as chief spokesperson and media strategist during Kenya's most hotly contested presidential election to date. He led national messaging, advertising, and press relations, coordinated daily media briefings across spokespersons, coalition partners, and regional teams, and directed rapid response operations that countered misinformation in real time. His work kept the campaign's public narrative disciplined and coherent across traditional and digital platforms, in one of the most charged and closely scrutinized environments the country has seen.

Dennis carried that same discipline into the machinery of government itself. As Director of Communications for the County Government of Taita Taveta and Chief of Staff to the Governor of Nyamira County, he advised governors and executive committees on communications strategy, reputation, and stakeholder positioning, while overseeing executive coordination, policy implementation, and interdepartmental performance.

Today, Dennis advises the County Government of Nairobi on strategic communications, leading messaging and media engagement across all ten county departments and serving as the primary communications link between the County Government, the National Government, and the Council of Governors.

Dennis is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Governance, Peace, and Security Studies from Africa Nazarene University, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communication from the University of Nairobi, and a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism, Mass Communication, and Media Studies from the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication.

It is this rare arc - journalist, strategist and government insider - that Dennis now brings to bear as Group Chairman of FELT Africa Group. He provides strategic leadership and governance oversight across the Group's full portfolio: strategic communications and media relations, crisis and reputation management, government and public sector advisory, public affairs and government relations, political strategy and electoral communications, and professional comms training.

Under his chairmanship, FELT Africa translates a combined two decades of hard-won experience, on both sides of the microphone and both sides of government, into the strategic counsel it delivers to governments, NGOs, and private institutions across the region.
