DEPARTMENT PURPOSE:

The Web Development team at FELT AFRICA is responsible for creating and maintaining an engaging online presence to support the organization’s mission. This team develops, optimizes, and maintains web-based applications, websites, and interactive solutions that are functional, responsive, and visually appealing. The department collaborates closely with internal stakeholders to drive digital transformation, ensure the scalability of web solutions, and enhance user experience.

The Web Development team focuses on creating digital tools and interfaces that are robust, secure, and user-centric, ensuring they reflect the organization’s commitment to innovation, quality, and accessibility.

DELIVERABLES:

• Develop and Maintain Websites: Design, develop, and maintain websites and web applications using the latest technologies and best practices to meet organizational goals.
• Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams: Work with design, marketing, and product teams to translate business requirements into digital solutions that enhance user experience.
• Optimize for Performance: Ensure web pages are optimized for maximum speed and scalability while maintaining a responsive design that functions seamlessly across various devices.
• Implement Security Protocols: Apply necessary security measures to protect websites and user data in compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.
• Ensure SEO Best Practices: Optimize web content and architecture for search engine visibility to support digital outreach strategies.
• Monitor and Maintain Web Systems: Conduct regular testing and monitoring of websites, implementing updates and resolving issues promptly to maintain website health and performance.
• Drive Innovation: Continuously explore and implement new web technologies and industry trends to enhance website functionality and user engagement.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES REQUIREMENTS:

• Proven experience as a Web Developer, with a strong portfolio demonstrating web development skills and relevant project experience.
• Proficiency in front-end languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Strong back-end skills in languages such as PHP, Python, or Node.js, with experience in database management (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with web hosting platforms, content management systems (CMS) such as Webflow, WordPress, and cloud services like AWS or Azure.
• Strong understanding of website architecture, responsive design, and web performance optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of version control tools (e.g., Git) and agile development practices.
• Demonstrable problem-solving and debugging skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field is preferred.
